It's that time of year where more stores and businesses need seasonal help to manage holiday demand. But while seasonal jobs are even more competitive this year because of the pandemic, there are still many options offered around the Valley for those looking for seasonal work.

"People that would normally not look for those seasonal roles that are more experienced are now looking for those seasonal roles to make it by," said Casey Hasten, Director of Recruiting for VIP.

Hasten said she expects companies like UPS, Amazon and Walmart to hire even more seasonal help this year because online shopping is at an all time high.

"Those are essential services so those aren't going away," Hasten said. "I think we're going to see an increase over last year in those positions and we're going to see a greater number of those seasonal jobs go permanent afterwords."

Amazon told 21 News they're hiring 4,600 seasonal positions in Ohio and 6,400 in Pennsylvania. In just Northeast Ohio, Amazon is hiring more than 1,500 seasonal jobs. 35,000 of seasonal jobs nationwide eventually turn full time.

UPS told 21 News they have nearly a dozen positions open right here in the Valley for personal vehicle drivers to help with the surge of holiday packages.

Eastwood Mall is also hiring for seasonal help at over a dozen stores including AT&T, Bath and Body Works, Dillard's, Macy's, Old Navy and Victoria's Secret. Southern Park Mall is hiring for seasonal help at Bath and Body Works, Buckle and JCPenney.
