EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio - East Liverpool City Hospital nurses are back on the job Tuesday after a three-day strike.

The nurses began working at the facility again at 6:59 a.m. following a three-day Unfair Labor Practice Strike.

Nurses had been on strike in front of the hospital day and night during the three-day period.

According to the release, the Ohio Nurses Association has yet to hear from the hospital directly. They say they are eager to get back to the negotiating table.

"Our nurses are still eager to get back to the negotiating table and secure a fair contract that addresses the nurse retention crisis the hospital, our nurses, and our patients are facing. We know East Liverpool deserves a community hospital that invests in nurses and, therefore, patient care, and we will not rest until a fair agreement is reached," said Bob Cousins, Deputy Executive Office of Labor Relations, Ohio Nursing Association.

The negotiations come at a time where Ohio is experiencing a surge in coronavirus cases in the state with over 11,000 cases reported Monday.
