NEWTON FALLS, Ohio - The Newton Falls Exempted Village School District will stick to remote learning through December.

The district made the announcement Tuesday on Facebook in a message from Superintendent Rocco Adduci.

Adduci says that after discussions with the Trumbull County Health Department and other school officials, they determined that it is in the best interest of students and staff to extend their district shutdown through December.

All students in grades K-12 will be remote and using their purple schedule through December. They will return for in-person learning on Jan. 4.

"We feel this proactive approach is the safest measure to account for large family gatherings that may take place over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays," Adduci wrote.
