Speeds restored on I-80 in Mercer County

Some drivers are finding the Valley’s first major snowfall of the season too much to contend with.
State Troopers, police, fire departments, and EMT’s have been answering calls about traffic accidents.
Most of the crashes have been reported in Trumbull and Mercer counties.
Due to the severity of the winter storm, PennDOT temporarily reducing the speed limit on Interstate 80 in Mercer County for several hours on Tuesday. Normal speed limits have since been restored.
PennDOT is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel but those who must head out will see speeds reduced to 45 mph.
The Ohio Highway Patrol tells 21 News that no one was seriously injured when a car rolled over along State Route 5 near Champion at around 7:30 a.m.

Another rollover crash was reported at around 9 am along Route 422 in Niles. An SUV struck a sign and rolled onto its roof. An ambulance rushed at least one person to the hospital.
Most of the accidents involve vehicles sliding off roads.
