YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A series of stories from people in the valley who have been touched by their experiences at Stambaugh Auditorium help to highlight Giving Tuesday.

The collection posted online is meant to inspire people to donate to the auditorium.

Giving Tuesday is a global movement to encourage generosity and support for organizations in local communities.

Henry H. Stambaugh built the auditorium on Fifth Avenue across from Wick Park, which opened in 1926.

It was meant for the Mahoning Valley and nearby communities to have a place for entertainment and educational programs.

"It is these memories that are the basis for the Stambaugh Stories series," said JoAnn Stock, chief development officer.

"The support of our donors which helps to preserve and sustain the legacy of Henry Stambaugh is important now more than ever due to the economic downturn created by the COVID-19 pandemic."
