HOWLAND, Ohio -  Dispatchers at Trumbull 9-1-1 had little time for anything else but to answer phone calls on Tuesday.

Emergency dispatchers tell 21 News that they took nearly 400 calls for help between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m.  Seventy-eight of those calls were to report accidents that occurred during the Valley’s first major snowfall of the winter season.

One of those calls brought the Brookfield and Vienna Fire Department to a two-vehicle accident on the 800 block of Warner Road late Tuesday afternoon.

Rescuers used a power tool to force open the door of a pickup truck to remove the driver. Another driver managed to get out of her jeep on her own.

The drivers were taken to local hospitals for treatment of injuries described as not life-threatening.

The road was temporarily closed.
