In Austintown, a Middle School student found a need that inspired him to take action.

Twelve year-old Aiden Arnold is in 7th grade and has more than filled up their school's food pantry through the help of donations.

"I wanted to help people out. I wanted to give them food to eat. I didn't want people to starve," said Aiden.

The collections started  when he learned the school's food pantry was near empty.

"I heard about it from a friend and I went to the food pantry for myself to go see and I saw it was almost empty," said Aiden.

"I would never want to see that food pantry empty again," said Aiden's Father, Chris Arnold.

Aiden's father said their family hadn't realized there was such a need in their own backyard.

"To think that there would be kids in our school that go home and don't know if they're going to have anything to eat," said Chris Arnold.

The pantry is now full. Aiden says he plans to continue collections and hopes others are inspired to donate.

"I hope a lot of people are getting food from this and a lot of positive activity too," said Aiden.
