A Major League Baseball umpire and Austintown resident was one of 14 men arrested in a sex sting operation.

57-year-old Brian O'Nora was arrested Sunday in Liberty Township as port of a single-day sting operation aimed at stopping the sale of sex on the internet.

O'Nora faces charges of soliciting and possessing criminal tools for his involvement.

O'Nara has been a MLB umpire since 2000 and worked the 2019 All Star Game in Cleveland.

Attorney General Dave Yost said in a news release these kinds of operations targeting sex customers, or "johns," are important to the state's efforts to fight human trafficking.

John stings deter those seeking to purchase sex, reducing the demand for human trafficking, and serve as a reminder that these crimes are more prevalent and closer to home than you may think," Yost said in the release.
