GROVE CITY, Pa. -  Police say two people have been arrested as part of an alleged crime ring out of Michigan targeting valuable car parts in Grove City and elsewhere in Western Pennsylvania.

Jordan Klinefelter, 22, and Myracle Hall, 20, both from Roseville, Michigan were arrested following investigations into stolen catalytic converters taken from vehicles late last month.

The converters were taken from a minivan parked outside College View Towers, a Honda CRV parked at Grove City College, and two vehicles on Carrie Way.

Police believe the two are responsible for stealing other converters which are part of an automobile exhaust system and contain the valuable metal platinum.

The two were arrested after their Chevy Equinox crashed during a police pursuit in Beaver County. Police say they found 24 converters inside the SUV.

Investigators say the pair, along with two other men, traveled from the Detroit area to Western Pennsylvania specifically to steal converters because of their value.

In addition to Grove City, converters were reported stolen in Cranberry Township, Slippery Rock Borough, Slippery rock University and Ross Township over the two day period.

One man told police he went into a Walmart for a half hour and came out to find the converter had been cut from his Honda Odessy.

Klinefelter remains held in the Butler County Jail awaiting a hearing. Hall is free on bond.

Charges have been filed against the two other suspects in the case.
