CLEVELAND, Ohio - Mahoning Valley Sojourn to the Past is set to receive a $1,500 grant from the Cleveland Browns.

The grants are part of the "10 days of giving" campaign the Browns are having which will donate a total of $20,000 to 10 organizations that make a difference in Northeast Ohio.

According to the release, Sojourn to the Past was selected as a finalist for the First and Ten grants along with a variety of other area organizations.

The non-profit groups were selected based on their focus on education, youth football, social equality and volunteerism.

“There are a tremendous amount of incredible organizations in our region, and we hope we can do our part to celebrate, encourage and create awareness for current and future leaders in our community," said Vice President of Community Relations Jenner Tekancic.

Sojourn to the Past takes high school students on a 10-day journey to the South and visits Civil Rights sites. Those involved also meet leaders of the movement and learn lessons of nonviolence, civic responsibility and tolerance.
