WARREN, Ohio - Trumbull Career and Technical Center (TCTC) Interactive Multimedia student John Terry won second place at the national iMix Matchup competition held by GROOVE U.

GROOVE U’s two-year music career program offers a diploma in music industry entrepreneurship.

The program offers specializations in audio production, music business, live sound, music video, interactive music, and independent music.

John Terry is a Senior from Mineral Ridge High School studying Interactive Multimedia at the TCTC.

Program Instructor, Mr. Kristofer Doran, encouraged John to enter the iMix Matchup competition earlier this year.

A total of five finalists recorded two artists at the GROOVE U studio in Dublin, Ohio and the finalists later mixed the songs remotely.

The final competition was held virtually over Zoom, and the mixed audio streamed through Audiomovers.

As the second-place winner, John received a professional audio interface.

John plans to use the interface to increase the quality of his future audio and video productions.

“John is an exceptional student that excels in both audio and video production. He’s a very creative individual with a passion for music, and I knew he would do well in this competition,” said Doran. “He has a bright future, and I’m so proud of him for this accomplishment.”
