The Youngstown City School District is changing this week’s meal distribution to 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, and families will get 14 breakfasts and 14 lunches per student.

The changes are due to the holiday break which begins Wednesday, Dec. 23. Online instruction resumes Jan 4.

Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. is the regular distribution day and time.

“Providing two weeks’ worth of food will make sure that our families don’t have to worry about feeding scholars breakfasts and lunches during the holiday rush while school isn’t in session,” said CEO Justin Jennings. “It will ensure our hard-working food service and operations staffs get a well-deserved break as well.”

Meal distribution is limited to young people, ages 1 to 18.

The food distribution sites are the same: East, Chaney, Martin Luther King, Harding, Paul C. Bunn, Volney, Williamson, and Wilson.
