CAMPBELL, Ohio -  Police are investigating a traffic crash that cut power to more than 100 homes and businesses in the City of Campbell on New Year’s morning.

Fire crews were called out to the accident in the 600 block of 12th Street.

First responders found an SUV on the sidewalk and a snapped utility pole.

Part of 12th St. between Coitsville Rd and McCartney Rd is closed while utility crews survey the area.

Coitsville Rd is open for travel in both directions. Ohio Edison has dispatched a crew to replace the damaged pole.

Police say no one was in the SUV when they arrived.

Drivers are asked to use caution since traffic signals at the intersection of 12th St and Coitsville Rd are not working due to loss of power.

FirstEnergy estimates that power will be restored by noon.
