The Youngstown City School District’s weekly food distribution is changing to 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays, beginning this week.

The district used the 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. time during the last two distributions of 2020. The change was made once because of bad weather and the second time because of the holiday break.

“We heard from a lot of families that the earlier time worked better for them,” said Tascin Brooks, YCSD’s chief of food service.

The distribution sites remain the same: East, Chaney, Martin Luther King, Paul C. Bunn, Harding, Volney, Williamson and Wilson.

Seven breakfasts and seven lunches will be distributed per student and there is a limit of five meal packs per vehicle. Distribution is for students ages 1 to 18.

Families are asked to pull up to the site and open their vehicle’s trunk so that food service workers may place the food inside.
