Powerball, Mega Millions jackpots more than $400M
YOUNGSTOWN - Jackpots of more than $400 million dollars are up for grabs in each of America’s major lottery games this week.
The big prize in Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing is currently $432 million ($329.7 million cash), while Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot has risen to $410 million ($316 million cash).
The estimated Mega Millions jackpot climbed after no ticket matched all six numbers drawn on Friday night.
If won at that level, it would be the tenth largest prize in Mega Millions history, and the largest since June 2019!
The Powerball jackpot for the Wednesday, January 6 drawing is the highest the Powerball jackpot has been since March 2019 when a $768.4 million jackpot was won in Wisconsin.
The Powerball jackpot was last hit in New York in the September 16 drawing. Since then, there have been 31 drawings in a row without a Grand Prize winner. Wednesday’s drawing will be the 32nd draw in the jackpot run. Since the jackpot was last won, there have been more than 19.5 million winning tickets across all prize tiers, including 20 tickets that have won $1 million and 10 tickets that have won $2 million.
Powerball tickets are $2 per play sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET.
Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m.
Both drawings can be seen on 21 WFMJ.
