Video rental chain Family Video announced they will be closing all remaining store locations.

That includes stores in Sharon, Girard, Salem and Greenville.

About 250 Family video stores remain nationwide.

In a press release, the company said while competition from Netflix and other on-demand movie services have declined sales for years, the COVID-19 pandemic was the final blow to the struggling business.

Liquidation sales are now underway, and stores will then close once all products are sold.

Family Video rented movies, video games, and recently started selling CBD products.

Now those, and store fixtures are included in the liquidation sale.

At one point Family Video operated 800 stores company-wide.
