Mega Millions jackpot nears $1 billion
For just the third time in history, one of America’s national jackpot games is nearing the $1 billion mark.
Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing did not produce one that matched all six numbers – the white balls 10, 19, 26, 28, and 50, plus the gold Mega Ball 16.
The jackpot for Friday’s drawing has now increased to an estimated $970 million, the second-largest prize in the game’s history. The cash value amounts to $716.3 million.
Eleven tickets sold for Tuesday night’s drawing did have five matching balls for the second prize of $11 million.
For the fourth time in its 28-year history, the Powerball jackpot has crossed the $700 million mark. The Powerball jackpot now stands at an estimated $730 million ($546 million cash value) for the Wednesday, January 20 drawing.
If won, it would be the 4th largest jackpot in Powerball game history and the 6th largest in U.S. lottery history. This is the highest the Powerball jackpot has been since March 2019.
The drawings may be seen during the 11 pm news on 21 WFMJ.
