Detectives and the coroner are still investigating after identifying the body of a woman found early Thursday at an intersection on Youngstown's South Side.

The county coroner issued a news release stating that investigators had determined that the body was that of 53-year-old Kimberly Sarkozy.  According to court records from 2018, Sarkozy had an East Liverpool address.

An ambulance was called to the area of Kenmore and Overland Avenues after the body was found in the road at around 5:30 am.

The coroner is still working to determine the cause of death.

Police tell 21 News that they believe a vehicle was involved to cause the woman's traumatic injuries.  Detectives are waiting for the coroner's report to make sure there aren't any other injuries.

A neighbor told 21 News that she did not hear any shots fired.

A 21 News crew on the scene could see a shoe on the road near the body.
