WARREN, Ohio - A Warren man accused of shooting at Trumbull County sheriff's deputies and Warren police faces trial on six charges handed up by the county grand jury.

Mehki Walker, 20,  was indicted Thursday on two counts each of attempted murder and felonious assault, as well as one count each of having weapons under a disability and failure to comply with the order of a police officer.

Walker was arrested in connection with an October 17 incident where a sheriff's deputy was attempting to pull a car over just after midnight on Southern Boulevard when someone inside the vehicle opened fire.

The driver took off, leading officers on a chase and eventually shooting at Warren officers as well.

Police followed the car to Norwood Street where the driver got out and took off on foot.

Walker was arrested in November and has been held in the county jail on $500,000 bond since then.
