In light of the nationwide racial injustice this past summer, the city of Campbell and the city's police department issued a survey with the hope of improving relations with those in the city and the police.

"What the community would like to see from the police department. What type of training we would be able to provide to our police officers to make them more effective and give them the tools that they need to do their jobs to the best of their ability," says Mayor Nick Phillips.

Campbell Mayor Nick Phillips admits when he took over in 2015, there were a number of issues within the police department. Phillips adds since he's taken over the police department has added dash and body cameras as well as a variety of training courses for officers but hopes the insights from this survey can be another tool for officers to use.

"I believe in community policing. You know, Campbell is a close-knit community, very small, and we always want to see and our officers work in close proximity to our residents and provide them the best safety force as possible," Phillips adds.

The 8 question survey is now open through March 11th. You can take the survey by following this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/63DF5RL
