Niles Police: Suspects used lure of sex to set up burglary victim
As the search continues for two 18-year-old burglary suspects, Niles police are releasing more information about the crime they are accused of committing.
Police are on the lookout for two Warren 18-year-olds, Shane Hall and Kylee Ginnicks.
An 18-year-old Reeves Avenue man told police that on January 5, Ginnicks and the juvenile female came to his apartment under the guise of having a “date”. The reported intent of the meeting was for sex, according to the police report.
Once inside the apartment, the victim says the girls let Hall and 21-year-old Dakota Phillips of Southington inside as well.
The girls then left the apartment, according to the victim, who claims that Phillips pulled a crowbar out of his pants as Hall threatened him with a taser unless he gave the pair something of value.
The victim said Phillips and Hall left, but not before taking his Apple watch, Nintendo Switch, and Sony PlayStation 4.
Later that afternoon, Police say the four pawned the game systems at P&A Pawn in Niles for $210.
Ten days later, police arrested Phillips who claimed that he gave Hall a ride to the pawnshop to help him pawn items that he thought belonged to Hall. The female juvenile was also arrested.
