LAKE MILTON, Ohio -

The Mahoning County Coroner has identified the elderly couple killed in a weekend fire near Lake Milton. 

Kaye McLaughlin, 85, and Murle McLaughlin, 94, were both killed Saturday morning around 3:30 a.m. at a home on Roselawn Street.

Crews found the single-story home fully engulfed in flames.
 

"We had fire coming out three sides of the house and through the roof," said Lake Milton Fire Chief Harold Maynard. 

Five nearby departments including Newton Falls, Berlin Center and Palmyra went to help Lake Milton firefighters battle the flames.
 
Authorities said Kaye called her son and told him that she thought their wood burner was still burning. 
 

Chief Maynard said the state fire marshal will investigate the official cause.
