BELOIT, Ohio - The West Branch Board of Education voted Wednesday night to continue Micki Egli’s stint as interim school superintendent at least through July.

Egli has been conducting the superintendent’s duties since this past August after the board approved medical leave for superintendent Tim Saxton. The reason for Saxton’s medical leave has not been disclosed.

“Ohio law expressly anticipates circumstances such as these and the district has followed the statute in authorizing Egli to continue in this temporary role,” according to a statement from the board.

The board also approved Saxton’s request to move him to a teaching job when he returns to work.

During his thirty-year career in education Saxton, 53, has been a teacher and principal.

“We wish Mr. Saxton the best for a full recovery,” says Egli. “We look forward to seeing him again in the classroom”.

Board members say they will be considering options as they search for a new superintendent.
