Valley business raises nearly $11,000 to help families

NORTH LIMA, Ohio - Sheely’s Furniture and Appliance has helped raise $10,979 to help needy families.
Money from a December event at Sheely’s Aurora and North Lima stores benefited Project MKC by offering matching funds for all donations received, as well as a $100 discount on qualifying purchases to customers who donated.
The check was presented to Project MKC (formerly: Making Kids Count), which was started by Jenny Kennedy, her daughter Shelly Marlowe, and daughter-in-law Jana Coffin in 2010.
Inspired by a charity focused on outreach to children affected by poverty, the mission of Project MKC was expanded to provide personalized assistance for children and families in need of a helping hand.
