EAST LACKAWANNOCK TOWNSHIP. Pa. -  A Mercer County man who had free on probation is behind bars again after police say he tried to use his child’s urine to pass a drug test.

Thomas Harvey, 42, of Clarks Mills was given a sentence of three months to one year in prison this past September after he pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property.

However, Mercer County Common Pleas Court Judge Daniel Wallace agreed to parole Harvey after serving a minimum sentence.

One of the conditions of parole was that Harvey would be subject to random drug testing.

According to police, Harvey admitted bringing his child’s urine to the parole office last month to pass a drug test that just happened to be on his birthday.

Harvey pleaded guilty to attempting to use drug free urine for testing.
