FARRELL, Pa. - Union workers have reached a tentative agreement with NLMK after being on strike for around six months.

Jim Wells, the unit president for United Steelworkers Local 1016-03, confirmed the news Wednesday night.

Wells says he's looking towards next week as far as getting the union members together to go over the latest contract offer from the Farrell plant.

There is no date set in stone yet as far as when the union will vote on the contract. Wells says he hopes that vote comes in two weeks.

Wells could not comment on the specifics of the contract but says the community support for the union workers has been overwhelming and way beyond what they could have expected.

The 426 union workers at the Farrell facility went on strike Aug. 22, 2020, claiming unfair labor practices.
