Ohio Governor Mike DeWine says he's met with team officials from the Indians, Reds, and minor league teams in the state about fan attendance in 2021.

The target figure, for now, is 30% capacity.

Governor DeWine says he's counting on three things.  "Everybody needs to be masked because we've seen it work in schools," stated DeWine. "Social distancing must also be part of the plan, and that's required."

The Ohio Department of Health, the county board of health, and the local board of health will review all plans.

The governor cautioned that Covid 19 variant had been found in the state. "It could become dominant in Ohio in the latter part of March, and we really don't know what's going to happen after that."

The governor is optimistic fans will be allowed to attend baseball games this season.
