Forty-year search continues for missing Coitsville woman

Authorities are using technology in hopes of solving a 40-year-old case of a missing person from the Valley.
The Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office is circulating a picture of Phyliss Brewer who was 19-years old when she was last seen taking a walk from her Coitsville Township home in June 1981.
Accompanying the photo of Brewer when she was a teen, is a picture depicting Brewer as she may look now in her late 50’s.
Investigators say they have been trying to solve this case for years. Detectives with the Mahoning County Sheriff's department say they have received significant tips over the years but have not received one since 2019.
Brewer is listed on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Anyone with information about Brewer is asked to contact Mahoning county Sheriff Detective Patrick Mondora at 330.480.5051 or the National Center for Missing Kids at 1-800-843-5678 or Missingkids.org.
