YOUNGSTOWN - Precautions to stem the coronavirus pandemic will give Ohio dog owners more time to renew their pet’s license.

Mahoning County Dog Warden Dianne Fry and County Auditor Ralph Meacham are notifying residents that Ohio House Bill 404 extends the period of validity of most licenses and permits issued by Ohio and Ohio subdivisions.

Licenses in Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana Counties that are scheduled to expire between March 9, 2020, and April 1, 2021, are now valid until July 1, 2021.

These licenses can now be purchased until July 1, 2021, without penalty.  After that date, the normal penalty will apply.
