Wellsville man charged in two-state meth investigation

WELLSVILLE, Ohio - A Columbiana County man was among five people rounded up in a two-state crackdown conducted by the Youngstown DEA and other agents on the trafficking of crystal meth.
Harley Gill of Wellsville was arrested as part of an investigation by the Hancock-Brooke-Weirton Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force into the trafficking of crystal methamphetamine in the Newell, WV area.
The investigation, which wrapped up this week, led to the arrest of three people for the felony offenses of distribution of crystal methamphetamine and the possession with the intent to deliver crystal methamphetamine.
Two search warrants were carried out in Newell, as well as a search that was conducted Liverpool Township, Ohio.
Approximately half a kilo of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of approximately $100.000.00 was seized as well as a firearm.
The search warrant that took place on February 11, 2021, had resulted in the following people being charged with possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver:
- Harley Gill, 27 - Wellsville, OH
- Sabrina Criswell — New Cumberland, WV
- Phillip Haglock — Weirton, WV
- Jeremy Hawkenberry — Newell, WV
- Patrick Mayhew — New Cumberland, WV
Also assisting in this investigation was the Hancock County Sheriff's Office of WV, West Virginia State Police, East Liverpool Police Department, Liverpool Township Police Department, and DEA Youngstown.
