Woman fatally shot in Warren neighborhood

WARREN, Ohio - Police are expected to release more information Monday about a Sunday night shooting that claimed the life of a woman in a residential neighborhood on Warren's Northwest side.
Dispatchers got a call at around 7:30 pm about the shooting on the 3100 block of Starlite Street NW.
Callers reported several shots were fired and a woman was struck in the back by the gunfire and had stopped breathing.
One witness told dispatchers that the shots appeared to have been fired from a white vehicle and went through the window of the victim's home.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was taken to Trumbull Regional Medical Center.
As of early Monday, detectives had not released any information about the victim. However, 9-1-1 calls indicate that she was elderly.
Police were canvassing the neighborhood to see if any home surveillance cameras may have recorded the crime.
