Community rallies to support young dad struck by driver

Friends and family of Kyle Saunders are working to help the father of a one year old baby girl through some very tough medical times.
February 17th, 2021, at the corner of DeForrest and Broadway in Weathersfield Township, a witness tells police the 24 year old was struck more than once and run over.
Doctors preformed emergency surgery to relieve swelling and pressure from bleeding on his brain.
The young dad was in a coma for almost two weeks but yesterday there were signs of hope.
"He was able to respond to commands, and it started with him opening his eyes, then responding to certain commands. He is still on a ventilator and a trach put in," said Jade Levels.
Kyle is making progress but had a long road ahead, with medical bills and every day bills adding up.
Travis Montgomery and his sister Jewelia, and the mother of Saunders baby, Jade are also selling wrist bands for five dollars, to help raise money, encourage Kyle to stay strong, and to show community support. The links to buy wrist bands can be found on Jade Levels social media sites.
A friend started a GoFundMe site called Travis Montgomery: Medical bills for Kyle Saunders, where people can donate.
Montgomery said, "We are planning some other fundraising events so the community can take part."
Saunders, a barber, is described as energetic, and as someone who extended a hand to help others.
Jade Levels said, "He's done hair for free before for certain people that can't afford it, he's a very giving nature and soul. He has a large following from women, to men, to kids. He's a very well known person, and he's very talented at what he does."
