WARREN, Ohio - Warren Police have arrested a man for allegedly carrying loaded handguns while investigating a report that someone pulled a gun on a Family Dollar customer.

The caller told a dispatcher that a tall white male with face tattoos pulled a gun on him Tuesday afternoon at the Family Dollar,1139 West Market Street.

Police searched the area and stopped a man and a woman a couple of blocks north from the store on Ward St. NW.

According to the police report, 34-year-old George Vanderwall Jr. of Warren had a loaded 32 caliber handgun and baggies containing 36 rounds of ammunition in his pockets.

Police say 22-year-old Shania Mechling of Leavittsburg had a loaded .22 caliber gun in her hoodie pocket.

Both suspects were booked into the county jail on charges of carrying a concealed weapon.

According to an affidavit filed later, Vanderwall said both guns belonged to him and Mechling was released from jail and not charged in court.

Vanderwall was also charged with aggravated menacing and since he has a previous conviction of aggravated assault, police also charged him with having a weapon under a disability.
