Mass vaccination clinic coming to Youngstown

Governor DeWine traveled to Cleveland State University to announce that fifteen mass vaccination clinics will soon open in Ohio.
This includes locations in Youngstown, Cleveland and Columbus with the first to kick off at Cleveland State on March 17th.
"This will be a significant local presence, significant state presence," said DeWine.
DeWine says the clinics will be long term and equipped to administer between 300 and three thousand vaccines per day. Distributing that many vaccines, is going to call for a lot of help.
"The federal government will supply the vaccinators," said DeWine. "But it will be up to us locally to supply people who are doing the data entry," he said.
Any Ohian is eligible to receive the vaccine under the state's department of health vaccination plan. No one can register just yet but several options will be available for scheduling appointments later this month.
Youngstown's Health Commissioner, Erin Bishop, tells 21 News she's been working with several entities to get the mass vaccination clinics up and running, including FEMA and the Mahoning County Public Health.
"We'll be here at the state of Ohio ready to get those vaccinations into the arms of the people," said Bishop.
The governor anticipates the mass vaccination clinics to be up and running in the coming weeks and will stay open until they are no longer needed.
