It was back in mid-January when a crash lead to major road closures in Youngstown.

Traffic was at a standstill following a crash on Interstate 680 that left the Mahoning Avenue Bridge damaged forcing the city to close it while necessary repairs were made.

ODOT says they're in the home stretch with the repairs on the bridge and estimate the project to be completed within the next few weeks.

This week crews poured the pier columns and pier caps, which will take about two weeks to set.

Once that's done, they'll need to reset some of the barriers and restripe the road underneath the bridge which ODOT says will take a few days to complete that portion.

This project is weather dependant so the colder the temperatures are, the longer this construction will take.

Ray Marsh with ODOT District 4 said, "IF WE HAVE REALLY COLD TEMPERATURES, YOU KNOW, WE CAN'T REALLY STRIPE, STRIPE THE ROAD BECAUSE WE NEED A LITTLE BIT HIGHER TEMPERATURES THERE. BUT LOOKING THROUGH THE FORECAST IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S GOING TO BE GOOD HERE. BUT WE'RE STILL THINKING MID-MARCH AND WE'RE GOING TO HAVE EVERYTHING OPENED UP."
