AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - The Austintown Farmers Market will be back for the 2021 season but on a different day.

The farmers market at the Austintown Township Park on Kirk Road will be moving from Mondays to Wednesdays.

After feedback from customers and community events on Monday, market manager Shannon Lehn decided to make the change.

The season will run from June 9 through September 1. The market will be open from 5 to 8 p.m.

Lehn says free yoga is back along with healthy cooking demos, crafts for kids and live music. They will also have themed weeks like a patriotic week, Dog Days of Summer event as well as a back-to-school day. Lehn says they also fully expect to be able to take SNAP benefits this year. Lehn adds there is now a market advisory council as well to help generate ideas for the market.

As far as COVID-19 precautions, Lehn says it's hard to tell what exact protocols will be in place since the opening day is three months away but stresses they will do whatever is needed to keep the community and vendors safe.

The farmers market is looking for vendors, musicians, sponsors and volunteers. Those interested can visit the Austintown Farmers Market's website
