Gas prices in Northeast Ohio continue to rise.

AAA East Central's Gas Price Report shows the average price for gas across Northeast Ohio is 11 cents higher this week at $2.759 per gallon. Monday's average is nearly 60 cents higher than at the beginning of the year.

AAA says the average price of unleaded self-service gas is $2.742 in Youngstown.

According to AAA, every state average has climbed by double-digits since February, resulting in one in 10 gas stations with prices that are $3 per gallon or more.

The national average is nearly 40 cents more expensive compared to a year ago, which was right before state lockdowns and when people started working from home.

AAA says that prices are likely to remain this high with refinery use at a record low, gasoline supplies tightening, demand modestly increasing and rising crude oil prices.
