Police: Austintown woman assaults mom who switched off internet at home

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - An Austintown woman is accused of striking her mother's head with a dustpan after the mom switched off internet service because her children wouldn't help the mom clean the home.
According to the report, officers were called to a home on the 4600 block of Driftwood Lane for a domestic incident around 6:48 p.m. Friday.
Police say the victim had turned off the internet service in the house because her family members would not get off their phones to help her clean.
23-year-old Amber Blasko allegedly become upset with her mother and began to scream while throwing things around the house and slamming the door.
Blasko was allegedly confronted by her teenage sister before she slapped and punched her younger sister on the arms.
According to the report, Blasko hit her mother in the head with a metal handle dustpan after she tried to break up the fight, causing a half-inch cut on her head that was bleeding when officers arrived.
Police say Blasko admitted to hitting her mother with the dustpan but claimed she did not mean to and did it because of an angry outburst.
Blasko's mother told officers that she wanted to press charges against her. During that time, Blasko left the home and ran towards Pinegrove Avenue where she was eventually stopped by police.
Police arrested Blasko and transported her to the Mahoning County Jail.
Blasko was arraigned Monday on charges of felonious assault and obstructing official business, and has been freed from jail on bond. Her next court hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
