Police arrest Howland brothers reporting threat during pot buy

A Howland man who called police to report that he’d been threatened while trying to buy marijuana ended up in jail along with his brother.
Lawrence DeFabrizio, 26, and his 24-year-old brother Eric met with officers on Wednesday and said that Lawrence had driven to an apartment on Northwest Boulevard to buy marijuana.
Lawrence told officers that a man came out of the apartment and began yelling at him for parking in a backlot. Then, according to DeFabrizio, he drove away after another man came out and punched him in the head and then pistol-whipped him with a handgun.
When officers did a background check on the brothers, they discovered that warrants were out for their arrests on drug possession charges.
On the way to jail, police say Lawrence Defabrizio changed his story. Still claiming he went to the apartment to buy marijuana, this time he said a man came out and held an “AR” rifle to his head.
Police told DeFabrizio that a report would be on file if he wanted to see a prosecutor.
