Animal Charity of Ohio is caring for a dog found in Sebring with a fractured leg.

The humane society found out about the six-month-old dog Thursday after police responded to an incident involving the dog inside a home this week.

Animal Charity stepped in to take the dog, Flapjack, to an emergency clinic for the fracture. Mary Louk with Animal Charity says the dog also has bite wounds, which have caused a skin infection.

Louk says they will have to ultimately take the dog to an orthopedic surgeon. The estimated cost for care is around $4,000 and Animal Charity is looking for donations. People can donate to its website or Facebook page

Sebring police are investigating what happened to the dog, Louk said. It's unclear if charges are forthcoming.
