Warren company adding jobs to boost 'Voltage Valley'

Thomas Steel Strip of Warren is becoming part of the “Voltage Valley” as it announces plans to add 42 new jobs to the 220 employees currently working to support the company’s entrance into the rechargeable battery market.
The company produces cold-rolled and plated steel products for automotive, construction, packaging, engineering, and other industries.
“TSS offers a wide range of electroplated steel which is incorporated in products we use in our everyday lives like, alkaline and rechargeable batteries, automotive application, sporting ammunition, and decorative products,” said Michael Morris, TSS President, and CEO.
Citing the Northeast Ohio Region’s proximity to markets and workforce, Thomas Steel Strip executives say the expansion is a collaboration with the office of Congressman Tim Ryan and an economic development team comprised of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, JobsOhio and Team NEO.
“Thomas Steel Strip knows this area and recognizes not only the quality of our regional workforce of 2 million-plus but also the growing momentum in the Voltage Valley, as companies develop innovative technologies to meet the needs of emerging markets,” said Team NEO CEO Bill Koehler.
