Mercer Coroner identifies Campbell drowning victim

WORTH TWP., Mercer Co., Pa. - The Mercer County Coroner has released the name of a Campbell, Ohio who died in a fishing accident.
Fire department rescue squads were called to a private pond off Millbrook Road at around 3:30 p.m. Saturday after 911 callers reported that a kayak flipped over as 44-year-old Greg Hurst was fishing.
According to Mike Parker of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, the Hurst was likely shocked when he landed in the frigid water and drowned.
The victim, who was not wearing a life vest, drowned in 8 feet of water, according to Parker.
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission requires boaters to wear a life jacket between November 1 through April 30 while underway or at anchor on boats less than 16 feet in length or on any canoe or kayak.
The coroner ruled Hurst's death accidental due to drowning.
