Rowan Sweeney's mother and her boyfriend arrested on gun charge in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN - The mother of 4-year-old Rowan Sweeney, who was shot and killed in September, and her boyfriend who was also injured in that shooting incident were arrested in Youngstown this weekend.
Alexis Schneider, 23, and her boyfriend Yarnell Green Jr., 30, were arrested early Sunday morning.
Schneider was arrested on a charge of improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property.
Green was arrested on the same charges and also charged with driving under suspension.
According to police, the two were pulled over around 3:15 a.m Sunday for a headlight violation and making an improper turn.
The police report says Schneider and Green appeared nervous and seemed like something was being hidden under one of the car's seats.
Green was found to not have a valid driver's license but Schneider did and the car was registered to her.
According to police Green told them there was a 9mm handgun under the front seat.
Police say that gun was reported stolen from Boardman and Green said a family member gave him the gun just days after the September shooting that killed Rowan Sweeney.
Schneider is currently being held in the Mahoning County Jail, while Green was able to post bond.
