Michael Stanley Day to be held in Cleveland March 25th

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will honor Northeast Ohio music legend during "Michael Stanley Day" on March 25.
The Rock Hall joins Stanley's family, members of The Resonators, Cleveland City Council President Kevin Kelley, and fans to celebrate Stanley's legacy.
Rock Hall CEO Greg Harris will present Stanley's family with a proclamation by Cleveland Mayor Frank G. Jackson.
Festivities kick off at 10 a.m. at the Rock Hall plaza.
In honor of Stanley's career, 98.5 WNCX, the station where he spent 30 years hosting his afternoon radio show, will play "My Town" at 10:35 a.m. The time coincides with the opening lyrics of "In the Heartland", another Stanley hit song.
Local iHeart Media and Cumulus Media stations told 21 News that they will join WCNX in the playing of "My Town."
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will have Stanley memorabilia on display including his Jon Hill custom guitar and new artifacts from Stanley's collection, including handwritten lyrics and setlists.
"Michael Stanley was the first live concert I saw as a young person and he was the last live concert I saw at the Beachland Ballroom when he received the Cleveland Arts Prize in 2019," said Council President Kevin Kelley, who sponsored the resolution for March 25th Michael Stanley Day. "The Michael Stanley Band was the music of my youth and beyond."
Councilman Kelley also had the corner of Euclid and Huron renamed as "Michael Stanley Way" in 2019.
Two new Michael Stanley songs will also begin streaming on www.linelevelmusic.com at 10:35 a.m. on March 25.
