YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The teenage driver who is accused of colliding with another vehicle and killing a former YSU football player has been indicted by a Mahoning County Grand Jury.

Adrienne Washington Jr., 19, was indicted Thursday on charges of involuntary manslaughter, aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular manslaughter and failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer.

Investigators said that on February 6, Washington was driving a car being chased on the city's East Side for running a red light.

According to police, Washington and his 17-year-old brother were in a car that fled north on Albert Street, near the Himrod Expressway.

Police said as the officer turned around and activated his lights, the car fled the scene at a high rate of speed.

Washington's vehicle ran a second red light at Albert and McGuffey, hitting Shackleford's car in the intersection, according to police.

Investigators said Washington fled on foot and was later apprehended.
