COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State Highway Patrol has unveiled a new OVI Dashboard.

The new dashboard gives a detailed view of impaired driving crashes and violations across Ohio and the important work that troopers are doing to reduce their impact.

Ohio's new OVI dashboard is part of the Ohio Statistics and Analytics for Traffic Safety (OSTATS), a series of dashboards dedicated to analysis and exploration of crash data in the state.

Those visiting the website can filter by specific counties and routes to get a better idea of the efforts to stop impaired driving.

According to the release, there have been over 71,000 crashes in Ohio due to impaired driving since 2016. 2,349 of those crashes have been fatal.

More than 123,000 OVI citations have been given during that same time period, with 31% being repeat offenders.

"We recognize alcohol and drug impaired driving remains a top safety concern for Ohioans and people travelling through our state," said Colonel Richard S. Fambro, Patrol superintendent. "This new Dashboard furthers the Patrol's prioritization to protecting innocent lives from this devastating crime and is a new tool for the public and our troopers, who are arresting impaired drivers through focused enforcement every day."
