Boardman child sex offender faces 80 new charges

A convicted sex offender from Boardman who is already in jail now faces eighty new child pornography charges.
The Mahoning County Grand Jury on Thursday handed up an indictment charging 37-year-old John Kukura with eighty counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor.
According to the indictment, on October 20 Kurkura was in possession of obscene depictions of children.
Kukura has been in the custody of state corrections officials since March 29 after he was sentenced to nine months in prison on convictions of importuning, unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, and possessing criminal tools.
As part of his sentence, Kukura was also declared to be Tier Two Sex Offender or Child Victim Offender.
The Brookfield Avenue man was one of 177 people arrested during Operation Autumn Home, a federal, state, and local law enforcement operation claiming to have rescued 109 human trafficking victims, including 45 children, in a statewide anti-human trafficking operation.
During that operation, Kukura was one of 14 men arrested in Mahoning County and accused of sex crimes against children.
Authorities are expected to bring Kukura back to the Mahoning County jail to await arraignment on the latest charges.
