Boardman police investigating late night gunfire, juvenile taken to JJC

BOARDMAN, Ohio - Boardman detectives are investigating after gunfire rang out Saturday night.
Police were called to the scene at a home on the 100 block of Shadyside Drive at 8:54 p.m. after reports of several gunshots in the area.
Officers spoke with residents on scene who said they heard multiple shots they believed came from a home across the street.
The witnesses told police they saw several people run from the side of the house into the home across the street.
Three bullet holes were found in an upstairs bedroom of the home, but no one was hit by the gunfire.
Officers set up a perimeter around the house and called out several juveniles who cooperated and were detained.
Police searched the home and found shell casings from two different types of weapons but no weapons were found during the search of the surrounding area.
One juvenile was taken to the Juvenile Justice Center on an open warrant. Five other juveniles were turned over to their parents and guardians who were called to the scene.
The investigation into the gunfire is ongoing.
