NILES, Ohio - As the newest Rally's location in Niles on Robbins Avenue is set to open, the police department is investigating why the restaurant keeps getting struck by bullets.

Police said Thursday night at 8:50 p.m., a witness said they heard several gunshots in the area of Rally's.

When officers got to the scene, they found that one side of the building, including the drive-thru window, was battered by bullets, according to a report.

Police said when they went inside the restaurant, they found bullet fragments in a bundle of napkins and on the floor.

Officers then noticed a fifth bullet hole on the west end of the building near the front door.

Police asked the owner if they had any clue why the business was targeted, but they did not know.

This is the second time in two months Rally's has been hit by gunshots.

"Anybody that is gonna shoot in the middle of town is obviously dangerous," said Captain John Marshall of the Niles Police Department.

However, he said it is a relatively safe area and the department is investigating.

There is no motive as of yet.

Attached is a picture of what police believe the vehicle involved looks like.

If you have information on either incident, contact the Niles Police Department at 330-652-9944.

There's no word on when the restaurant is set to officially open to the public.
