Penguin City Brewing Company recently closed on a $2.2 million loan with Premier Bank and Valley Partners.

The loan will help the company move forward to start soliciting bids to begin construction to work towards the targeted fall 2021 opening of the new Penguin City Beer Facility.

"Premier Bank is thrilled to Partner with Penguin City and we look forward to assisting their company to grow," said Dave Howard, Vice President & Commercial Relationship Manager with Premier Bank.

"This is huge for us at Penguin City; to be able to invest in our city, be a part of creating a new corridor, and make a change in the landscape of our downtown is overwhelming and emotional and it's what we wanted to do from day one. We hope this sets an example, and other businesses start to follow suit and bring their ventures here to our great city," said Aspasia Lyras Bernacki, Co-Owner of Penguin City Beer.

Phase one of the new facility project will be a 10,000 sq ft. taproom, a 10,000 sq ft. brewhouse from Deutsche Beverage Systems.

The cost of the brewery equipment is around $550,000.

This will help Penguin City double its production and expand into other markets.

"I'm really excited to brew on a beautiful, well-thought-out system customized specifically for Penguin City Brewing products. We'll be able brew more consistently and efficiently, get a higher volume of beer out and introduce new products to current and new markets," said Richard Bernacki, Co-Owner of Penguin City Beer

A 5,000 sq ft. office space will be remodeled into Penguin City headquarters and a 1,000 sq ft. space will also be renovated into a small production and taproom for Hannah Ferguson, of DOPE Cider House & Winery.
